The service
OK Alerts provides scheduled automated check-ins and a consented sequence for contacting chosen Alert Mates after a missed or concerning response. By default, a Backstop is reserved for later contact after ordinary Alert Mate options are exhausted.
Automated systems may classify keypad or voice responses and route the resulting status. Automated classification can be wrong.
Consent and roles
- The recipient must consent to receiving check-in calls.
- Each Alert Mate and Backstop must personally accept their own role and communications.
- A Backstop cannot be the recipient in the same enrollment.
- By default, a Backstop receives no routine check-in calls or early missed-check-in alerts.
- The recipient may approve Extended Powers Mode for 30 days. While active, the Backstop may manage account settings and contacts, view routine account activity, pause or resume check-ins, and receive early urgent notices. The recipient may revoke it immediately, and each later period requires new recipient approval.
- Participants must provide accurate contact information and report role changes.
Not an emergency or medical service
OK Alerts does not provide emergency dispatch, medical advice, diagnosis, continuous monitoring, or guaranteed human response. It does not replace 911.
Call 911 or the appropriate local emergency number for an immediate or life-threatening emergency. Do not wait for an OK Alerts call, alert, or response.
Communications and availability
Delivery depends on working devices, power, networks, carriers, and accurate contact information. Alert Mates and Backstops are independent people whose availability and actions cannot be guaranteed.
Message frequency varies. Carrier rates may apply. Participants may use the provided opt-out commands, but opting out can prevent service delivery.
Test drive, purchase, and renewal
The five-day test drive begins after the required consent and role verification is complete. The current paid offer is a one-time $15 purchase for a 60-day pilot through the exact OK Alerts Ko-fi Shop item.
- The purchase does not renew or charge automatically.
- The recipient or accepted Backstop may be the purchaser and renewal contact.
- The access period begins when the verified Shop purchase is activated for the recipient.
- Renewal status alone does not stop scheduled check-in calls.
Acceptable use and account changes
Do not use OK Alerts to harass, impersonate, secretly monitor, or enroll someone without consent. Accounts may be restricted for fraud, abuse, unsafe use, or material violation of these terms.
To stop service, change a role, or request account deletion, use the account controls or email [email protected].
Service limitations
To the extent permitted by law, OK Alerts is not responsible for carrier failures, unavailable Alert Mates, delayed or incorrect automated classification, or outcomes that require emergency, medical, or professional intervention.
