Questions before the test drive

The most important answers link to the page that explains the complete policy.

What happens after a missed check-in?

OK Alerts tries the check-in path again and then contacts ordinary Alert Mates. By default, the Backstop enters only after ordinary options are exhausted. Read How It Works.

Who can be an Alert Mate?

A friend, family member, neighbor, or other trusted person who understands the role and personally agrees to receive alerts. Read Alert Mates and Backstops.

What does a Backstop receive?

By default, no routine check-in calls and no early alerts. A Backstop is reserved for the end of the ordinary Alert Mate path and may also serve as purchaser and renewal contact. The recipient can separately approve 30 days of Extended Powers Mode for temporary account management, routine activity visibility, and early urgent notices.

What is Extended Powers Mode?

It is an optional 30-day mode controlled by the recipient. The Backstop may request it, but nothing changes until the recipient approves. While active, the Backstop can manage OK Alerts, see routine account activity, and receive early urgent notices. The recipient can end it immediately, and another period requires new approval.

Can the Backstop also receive check-in calls?

Not within the same enrollment. A Backstop who wants their own check-ins completes a separate joint enrollment with another trusted person.

Is this an emergency or medical alert service?

No. OK Alerts does not dispatch help, provide medical advice, or replace 911. Read the complete Safety boundary.

How much does it cost?

The test drive lasts five days. Continuing costs $15 for a one-time 60-day pilot through Ko-fi. It does not renew automatically. See Pricing.

Can someone else buy the pilot?

Yes. The recipient or the accepted Backstop may be the purchaser and renewal contact after orientation is complete.

Does a missed renewal stop check-in calls?

No. Renewal status alone never stops scheduled check-in calls. The account keeps a visible ended-pilot card and renewal action.

Can I register or get setup help by phone?

No. Registration and orientation are completed on the web. Use Take a Test Drive to begin.

What information does OK Alerts collect?

It needs identity and contact details, scheduling information, consent and role records, and check-in outcomes to operate. It does not need a medical diagnosis. Read the Privacy Policy.
